A very limited run of Relic Esquire 1959 reissues, numbering only 100 pcs, was made by the Fender Custom Shop in 2003. Beautiful Aztec Gold. This piece, an amazing condition predecessor to the Telecaster, has only one bridge pickup. This guitar is second hand, but comes with original hard Custom Shop case, certificate and accessories.
The 1959 Esquire Relic LTD guitar takes us back to Fender's early days. It features a 2-piece premium ash body with a gold nitrocellulose lacquer finish. A late-'50s C-shaped maple neck has a light-tint lacquer finish. Other features include a '63 custom Telecaster bridge pickup, gold hardware, and a vintage-style top-load Telecaster 3-saddle bridge. For "real thing" authenticity, the guitar has been given the "Relic" treatment--made to show years of natural wear and tear; with nicks, scratches, worn finish, rusty hardware, and aged plastic parts. Includes hardshell tweed case, strap, cable, "ash tray" bridge cover, and limited edition certificate.
